Shattered

In all I try and take to keep

the self I only serve

The curve is short and very steep

I get what I deserve

In all I wish and look to see

gaze both far and wide

Beneath my feet obscurity

holding back my stride

In all the time I never find

these moments slip away

Tomorrow kindly steps behind

the shadow of today

In all these pieces on the ground

might fit so perfectly

Hope is first what need be found

for all that shatters me

Timeless

Another day passes

before your eyes

Precious moments all lined in a row

Tomorrow is pulling

with yesterdays push

Makes today the star of the show

Ideas look forward

while memories back

Riding right now like a wave

If it's well spent

or wasted away

It's time we will never save

Frantic or lazy

are all in due time

And less about simple math

Counting and measuring

you cannot enjoy

This life, this journey, this path

Heartbeats keep rhythm

and emotions make rhyme

As the song of the soul plays sweet

Take just a minute

Or give some away

To those on the path that you meet

Lost Between Love and Fear

As there is light there is darkness

And as there is love there is fear

So far apart one might push us

While the other draws us so near

A glimpse in these passing moments

But jewels held in fond memory

And all that may lurk within shadows

Cast far as the eye can see

With words we make the connections

With feelings we need not say

And once we share the faintest spark

We share the light of day

As soon as we step from the darkness

Our focus becomes perfectly clear

Knowing that those in the shadows

Are lost between love and fear

Shine

So precious these tiny little moments will be

To glisten like treasure in warm memory

Kept to be shared but never let go

As words from the heart begin to flow

Clouds of emotion will give way to rain

To drench the soul and wash away pain

Life is a journey, the path is not straight

The love we may shine will guide our fate

Paths we may walk down

Leave footprints behind

Love we remember

Was gentle and kind

Today it might seem

As yesterday's aftermath

But tomorrow will always

Be further down the path

Each day is a step

So take them with care

What makes this a journey

Is love we may share

We navigate this life

From a place we call home

And all who might love

Are never alone
