starving the self

while love and compassion

are the only true wealth

Cast away kindness

the tongues bitter tone

tattered and broken

they sat there alone

The painted graffiti 

on all the bricks laid

will show in the light

the price you have paid

What's shattered in pieces

is soon thrown away

until love is the treasure

you'll need one fine day

with absolute splendor and joy in its name

Remembrance

Marking time with memories

immersed in the splendor of light

joy has the palette of color unbound 

while sorrow has black and white

Moments fill the days gone by

as the years all line in a row

silhouettes motion in jagged gaps

while color moves soft and slow 

Love is the richness in memory

that fills in the shadows of pain

If fear should bring the darkening sky

then hope should bring the rain

Frame by frame the image starts

the essence of time completes

the distance of life may be counted by years

and remembered by how the heart beats
